Austin will explore the tension between competition and compassion. In a world where competition is necessary to secure limited resources and opportunities for our survival, compassion urges us to empathise with and help others, even at our own expense. The presentation challenges the audience to consider new perspectives on how these forces might coexist and work together.
Questions:
- Can compassion and competition truly coexist, or must one always come at the expense of the other?
- Are there areas of life where we tend to be more competitive and others where we naturally choose compassion? Why?
